Phone tapping: Amar Singh moves SC

The Samajwadi Party leader made the Union Home Secy, Reliance Info and Delhi Police as respondents in his plea.

Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh on Monday moved the Supreme Court seeking a judicial probe into the telephone tapping issue.

Singh made the Union Home Secretary, Reliance Infocom – the phone service provider and Delhi Police as respondents in his petition.

He has blamed the Congress party for tapping his phones.

Singh also enlisted the support of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu who have separately alleged that their telephones were also being tapped.

"My phones are being tapped. We were trying to collect documentary evidence when Amar Singh came out with proof," Naidu said.
