It’s the first big game for both the sides in this World Cup. The reason why I claim this to be a big game is, because if England win, it will have a huge impact in their world cup campaign.

They will not only be getting past the contenders as assumed by cricket experts, it will also enhance their reputation. It will send a big message to the other teams, in terms of England’s strength as a one-day side.

For India a win here will establish their strength and confirm to the world stage that, their tag of a very powerful unit stands true amongst all. But the biggest query before the start of the game will be mainly two.

One, what will be the composition of both the sides and secondly, about the nature of pitch in Bengaluru. Both sides will look to play two spinners. Everyone was surprised to see South Africa field three at a time in one game.

Both sides had gone with power-packed batting in the previous games and the inclusion of a second spinner will somehow affect the balance of the side. For England, it will be the lower middle-order and for India their combination of four frontline bowlers, as this will make Dhoni bowl spinners in power-play.

The pitch will be able to answer all these questions. But whatever happens, it will be a cracker of an atmosphere at the Chinnaswamy on Sunday. PMG
