"The IndiGo airlines flight No.6E with 160 passengers on board was landing at the airport in Srinagar when one of its tyres burst on the runway," a police officer said here.

The pilots, however, were able to land the flight safely, thereby averting a major tragedy, he added.

Airport officials said the IndiGo flight from Srinagar to Delhi would now take off only when all technical checks are done to ensure the plane's airworthiness.
