PM dismissed 'allegations' of Arjun Singh on OBC issue

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday dismissed alleged statements of HRD Minister Arjun Singh that he (Prime Minister) did not "defend" him in the OBC reservation issue in 2006, saying all decisions taken by the Cabinet has his full support.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday dismissed alleged statements of HRD Minister Arjun Singh that he (Prime Minister) did not "defend" him in the OBC reservation issue in 2006, saying all decisions taken by the Cabinet has his full support.

"I have not seen the statement that is attributed to Arjun Singh ji. Arjun Singh is a distinguished member of my Cabinet. All decisions taken by the Cabinet naturally has my fullest support. There is no truth...," the Prime Minister said after releasing the party manifesto at a function in New Delhi.

In a biography to be released shortly, Arjun Singh has reportedly claimed that the Prime Minister did not defend him on the OBC reservation issue which hit the country in 1996.
