PM greets people on Buddha Purnima

PM asked them to follow Lord Buddha's teachings of compassion and non-violence.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima and asked them to follow Lord Buddha's teachings of compassion and non-violence.

"Lord Buddha's message of peace, tolerance, compassion and non-violence continues to guide humanity on the path of harmonious and virtuous living", Singh said in his greetings on the occasion of birth anniversary of the founder of Buddhism.

"May the festival usher in peace, prosperity and happiness for all", he said.
