Prime Minister AB Vajpayee is likely to campaign for the BJP candidates in Coimbatore and Nilgiris Lok Sabha constituencies on May 5, party sources said.

Vajpayee, who is scheduled to visit Chennai and share campaign platform with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on May 5, is expected to arrive here in the afternoon.

Since the polls in Coimbatore and nearby Nilgiris constituencies were turning out to be close contest with CPI and Congress respectively giving, BJP candidates C P Radhakrishnan wanted Vajpayee to campaign in nearby Tirupur, party sources said.
Though there was no official communication on Prime Minister's arrival, police are gearing up to provide adequate security for the expected "brief" visit, police sources said.
