PM on Left support: If wishes were horses, beggars would ride

"If wishes were horses, beggars would ride," was Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's comment when asked if he missed the "structured" support of the Left parties during the second stint of the United Progressive Alliance government.

"If wishes were horses, beggars would ride," was Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's comment when asked if he missed the "structured" support of the Left parties during the second stint of the United Progressive Alliance government.

"If wishes were horse, beggars would ride. It cannot become a reality...", he replied about the constantly shifting support patterns in the last one year.

"It is for like-minded parties to care for the well being of society... Come and join us for sustained, inclusive, equitable development," he said, signalling that he was open to support from all quarters.
