The round table conference on Kashmir convened by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to broadbase the dialogue process in the state has been postponed by a day to February 25.
There was no official word on the reason for postponement of the meeting, which was earlier scheduled for February 24 but informed sources said delaying the meet by a day was aimed at giving separatist groups time to make up their minds to attend the meeting.
Firebrand pro-Pakistan Jamaat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani has already spurned the Centre's offer for talks while there has been no positive signal from the moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference so far about attending the roundtable.
The separatist amalgam has, however, called a meeting of its working committee on February 20 to discuss the issue.
The Centre has said it would hold talks with a cross-section of political leaders from the state and Singh had kicked off the exercise by meeting a delegation of Hurriyat Conference in New Delhi on September 5 last year.
