PM, Sonia meet injured soliders

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi visited the injured soldiers of the army undergoing treatment at the Base Hospital, Badami Bagh Cantonment, during their visit to Kashmir on Tuesday. They met the injured soldiers and lauded the supreme sacrifices of the martyrs.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi visited the injured soldiers of the army undergoing treatment at the Base Hospital, Badami Bagh Cantonment, during their visit to Kashmir on Tuesday. They met the injured soldiers and lauded the supreme sacrifices of the martyrs.

The Prime minister was accompanied by governor NN Vohra, chief minister Omar Abdullah, union minister of health and family welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad and Rajya Sabha MP Ambika Soni.

According to official statement issued by the army, the Prime minister and the UPA chairperson were received by Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, the Chinar Corps Commander, at the Base Hospital. The delegation visited the ICU as well as the surgical ward and met each of the injured soldiers with great warmth.

The Prime minister and the UPA chairperson enquired about the health of every soldier and praised them for the bravery and dedication in the service of the nation. Expressing his deepest sense of compassion towards the soldiers, the Prime Minister conveyed that he was proud of the army's contribution in the service of the nation. During his interaction with soldiers he wished them a speedy recovery.
