The Delhi Police on Friday told the Delhi High Court it had strong evidence that the suspected Indian Mujahiddin (IM) terrorists, arrested for their alleged involvement in last month's serial blasts in the city, had a role in the recent explosions in Ahmedabad.
The police claimed they recovered incriminating material, including laptops and CDs, from the suspected IM terrorists, that pointed to their involvement in the terror attack in Gujarat. The court was informed of the recovery of 2 laptops, one pen drive, video cassettes, 42 CDs used by accused Md Atif Ameen, Zeeshan and Shakeel.
"Laptops and CDs were found containing jihadi songs, incriminating slogans, video clippings showing alleged atrocities being committed against Muslims during the Gujarat riots and other incidents. They contained literature related to Osama Bin Laden and terrorists training camp," the police said in the affidavit.
The police said these in reply to a notice on a petition filed by the relatives of five accused, challenging the "illegal" repeated extensions of police remand of the suspects. The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Delhi had been extending the remand on the grounds that the "investigating agency was required to collect evidence and find out the truth of different dimension in the matter".
Police counsel Mukta Gupta told Justice Kailash Gambhir there was proof the accused were at present in Gujarat.

{{/usCountry}}Claiming Zeeshan and Shakeel were influenced by Atif Ameen, who died during an encounter on September 19, the police said mobile records of the accused established their links to the Gujarat blasts.
The police are yet to establish their links to the Jaipur blasts though the travel records collected from Railways and Rajasthan Roadways pointed towards their link with the Ahmedabad and Jaipur blasts, the counsel said.
The police said they had seized ball-bearings for alleged use as sharpnels in bombs, electronic watches, multimetre, screw-driver kits, besides wire and wax used for preparing timers devices.
