Police impose prohibitory orders near Andhra assembly

With the agitation demanding separate Telengana state intensifying in Andhra Pradesh, the Hyderabad police have imposed Prohibitory orders within a radius of one kilometer of the state legislative assembly and Council building in the city till the morning of December 13.

With the agitation demanding separate Telengana state intensifying in Andhra Pradesh, the Hyderabad police have imposed Prohibitory orders within a radius of one kilometer of the state legislative assembly and Council building in the city till the morning of December 13.

The orders have been imposed till 6 am on December 13 with a view to maintain public order and tranquillity, City Police Commissioner D Prasada Rao said here this evening.

The order has prohibited assembly, public meeting or procession that has potential to cause disturbance to the public peace and safety within a radius of one km of the state assembly and council building which are in the session now, the commissioner said.

Meanwhile, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Telangana students and teachers has called for a "peace rally" on December 10.
