Parents are angry over picking boys from outside the school and later arresting them. They alleged that a police case was registered under the Minister’s influence.

Congress spokesman Manak Agarwal on Friday met DGP AR Pawar and said that it was unjust to book the boys under such sections of the IPC. In similar cases, Agarwal said, the police did not act so promptly but the fact that the complainant was BJP Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah’s nephew influenced the police decision.

The Congress leader objected to the manner in which police registered the case and arrested the boys later. He said the future of the students should not get affected. Later, the DGP reportedly spoke to the Superintendent of Police Bhopal and sought information on the matter. The police are now mulling over ways to ensure that the future of the students is not jeopardised, sources said.
