Two ultras chased Roopnath Bhengra and killed him on the spot, Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Shankar told newsmen here.

Shankar denied allegations that Bhengra had been an informer for the police as alleged by the Maoists in a note left at the place and added a search has been launched to trace the killers.
