After registering an FIR against the hospital's doctors and management last week for misleading them in the case, the police have gathered evidence that suggest that the two did not act as required by the rules.

Phone records of Harish Sharma, PA of late Pramod Mahajan, have revealed that he had called Chandru in the early hours of June 2 after he came to know of Rahul's condition. Harish told her that Rahul and Vivek Moitra would be brought to the hospital any time. "He explained to Chandru the situation and also asked her to ensure that the incident is not leaked out," said a senior police officer.

Chandru's phone records have revealed that she had called Reddy at 3.30 a.m. and informed him about the matter. A few minutes later, Reddy sent her an SMS. Chandru then went to the hospital to oversee Rahul's treatment by 4 a.m. The police will soon be calling Chandru and Reddy for interrogation. They want to know why the two did not inform the police immediately. "If the hospital administrator could call the CEO at such an odd hour, she could have also called the police. She knew very well that it was a medico-legal case," said the police officer.
