Police have descended in droves on Shahbazpur to protect the girl who has accused BSP MLA Purushottam N Dwivedi of rape and ended up taking over the primary school in the village.
The school is now closed as it serves as a camp for the police force, which has occupied the classrooms as well as the kitchen.
On Monday, mid-day meals could not be served to the students. "According to the menu, the children were to be served puri and vegetable," said assistant teacher Shravan Kumar.
"We are not sure if the children would get their mid-day meal on Tuesday," said Kumar. He added that police officials had been urged to relocate the force to another building.
Banda's additional superintendent of police Lala Ram said the police force had no option but to use the school building as a shelter.
The police have been deployed in the girl's village, 60 km south of Banda, on the orders of the Allahabad high court to provide her security.
Meanwhile, Sampat Pal, leader of the Gulabi Gang - a band of social activists - has urged the rape victim to join the group to fight for the cause of women. Pal had first highlighted the girl's plight and launched a campaign against Naraini MLA Dwivedi.

Accused surrenders
The fourth absconding accused in the rape case, surrendered in a local court here.
Ravan Garg surrendered before Chief Judicial Magistrate Tripta Chaudhary who remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days, officials said here.
The three other accused -BSP MLA Dwiwedi and his accomplices Rajendra Shukla and Surendra Neta - were arrested last week and are in judicial custody.
