Accusing the police of harassing and implicating its party workers and leaders all over the state at the behest of the Samajwadi Party-led government, state BJP on sunday threatened to launch a state-wide agitation if the police failed to mend its ways.
Talking to reporters here on Sunday, state BJP president, Keshari Nath Tripathi said that the police atrocities were maximum in districts, where the BJP was strong.
The police had been directed to settle scores with the BJP, its leaders and workers before the Vidhan Sabha elections, he said. The situation was alarming in parts of eastern UP, where the SP had lost base at the grass root level following communal clashes and unprovoked arrest of Yogi Adityanath, Tripathi said, adding that people had seen the real ‘communal face’ of the SP and its leaders, who could go to any extent to humiliate Hindus for Muslim vote bank and they would teach the party a lesson in the coming assembly election.
Meanwhile, state BJP spokesman, Hirdya Narain Dixit today accused Governor TV Rajeswar of violating the provisions of article 351 of the constitution, which said that it was the responsibility to promote use of Hindi in every sphere.

{{/usCountry}}Alleging that the Governor had intentionally made derogatory remarks against Sanskrit to please Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, Dixit advised him to first learn and study Sanskrit before forming any opinion about the ancient language.
“The state is facing an unprecedented situation, as the Chief Minister is ‘madarsawadi’ while the Governor, a champion of a foreign language, which he wants to promote at the cost of Sanskrit,” he regretted, adding that the Bharatiya Janata Party would never tolerate such insult of the Indian culture.
