THE POLICE have worked out a sensational murder case of a retired Army personnel, Ram Chandra Yadav, committed on April 4 in Sarnath area and arrested two persons including the nephew of deceased on Tuesday. The cause of murder has come up as the property dispute between uncle and nephew.

The police got the success on the basis of electronic surveillance and arrested contract shooter Shamsher and nephew Anil Yadav. Police have recovered a pistol, cartridges and a motorcycle and a mobile from the possession of arrested persons.
It may be mentioned that Ram Chandra was shot dead by two unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreants in Ashapur area during morning walk on April 24. The man along with his son, was jogging on the Varanasi-Ghazipur highway. The son had a narrow escape in the shootout. The injured had been rushed to the district hospital where doctors had declared him dead. The cause of murder had not been established soon after the murder, as the wife of deceased had lodged an FIR against two unidentified assailants.
Suspecting the property dispute of deceased with some one, police had concentrated on his nephew, Anil Yadav, through the electronic surveillance.
Soon, after the murder, the SP (city) had formed a police team to workout the case at the earliest.

During the investigation, it came to notice of investigating officer that Ram Chandra had sold a part of ancestral land without informing to his brother as a result of which, his nephew had become displeased. Anil got in touch with a miscreant of Sanjay Nagar Colony, Shamsher and hatched a conspiracy to kill his uncle. Help of two more criminals was taken in the murder. Anil had paid Rs 50,000 to each of three miscreants for the purpose. Police team after electronic surveillance, nabbed the nephew, Anil Yadav and Shamsher in the city on Tuesday.
Police recovered the pistol used in the murder from the possession of Shamsher, while mobile used in the conspiracy of murder from the possession of Anil. The efforts are on to nab remaining two miscreants wanted in connection with this murder.
