Talking to media persons here on Friday, office-bearers of the Uttar Pradesh Pradhanacharya Parishad said neither the fee structure of these secondary schools was revised in the last four decades nor the government initiated any effective measure to raise the academic standards of these schools.

State general secretary of the Parishad, Dev Krishna Sharma alleged despite several reminders, the State Government was reluctant towards their problems.

He said the academic standard of secondary schools could not be raised without revising the fee structure.

Sharma said if the State Government wanted to raise the academic standards of secondary schools, then it should extend facilities equal to the CBSE and ICSE
Boards.

He said around 10,000 posts of teachers were vacant in secondary schools but no serious efforts were made to fill these posts.

The parishad members also demanded from the State Government to increase the working days of secondary schools to the tune of CBSE and ICSE Boards.

The parishad members also expressed anguish over self-centres in board examination. They said they doubted the fact whether the self-centre examination would lend credibility of board examinations.
