Addressing the meeting at the dharna site, divisional president Lalan Ram flayed the UPPCL authorities for not conceding to their demands despite the written agreement with the executive engineer. As a result, resentment was brewing among the employees he said, who were sore that their demands including GPF, dues payment to retired and dying in harness category employees, increment and time bound salary had not been met.

State vice president Jawahar Lal Vishwakarma suggested to the executive engineer Rambagh to take an initiative to resolve the issue otherwise the administration would be responsible for any breach of peace in the power department. Prominent leaders who addressed the meeting included Amar Nath Pandey, Nidhi Ram Rai, Dwarika Prasad Ojha, Basudev Yadav, Santosh Kumar Yadav, Yogendra Tiwari and Sitaram.
