THE SPECIAL Task Force (STF) on Monday arrested Rajesh Kumar Singh, a shooter of the dreaded PP gang. Rajesh, STF sleuths claimed, was behind the murder of Pradeep Khandelwal, a trader in Haldwani.
Rajesh has claimed that a member of the PP gang was curently posted as PRO to a minister in UP. The STF is investigating the charge.
An Indica car, a mobile phone, three SIM cards, several passbooks, an ATM card and Rs 28,000 in cash were also recovered from his possession.
STF started zeroing in on Rajesh after the arrest of Anil Kumar Pandey, another member of PP gang, who was arrested on February 15. Pandey had told the cops that it was Rajesh along with his brother Satish Pandey who had carried out Khandelwal’s murder.
ASP Umesh Singh and Dy SP Shahab Rasheed Khan started tracking Rajesh and finally managed to locate him in Mahanagar through electronic surveillance.
Subsequently, a STF party raided the Sarvoday Nagar hideout of Rajesh and arrested him on Monday. Rajesh confessed that he was involved in several sensational criminal activities in Gujarat and Uttaranchal. However, STF sleuths are not speaking on Rajesh’s charge that a member of PP gang was posted as PRO to a UP minister.
Rajesh reportedly told the STF that the gang member working as PRO was Satish Pandey, who was involved in several crimes of heinous nature.
