EAP services include 24x7 counselling and support through telephone helpline and face-to-face sessions on personal and work related issues, the company Founder and CEO Carl Tisone told reporters.

The employees of a firm that has entered into a contract with PPC WorldWide can call the helpline and get counselling and information while keeping their identities confidential, he said.

PPC WorldWide has already created a network of 25 tea of psychologists and counsellors for providing service in India and plans to double the number in six months, said PPC WorldWide India Chief Operating Officer Anna Oldman.

Tisone said Employees Assistance Programmes (EAPs) are an important part of building a more effective workforce and increasing employees' productivity by keeping their personal and work lives insulated from everyday issues and concerns.

EAPs helped reduce "costly errors" in workplace, absenteeism and addressed issues emerging from the westernisation of business practices, he said.

PPC WorldWide has branches in over 100 countries with 1.5 million employees worldwide under its programmes, it said.
