"Yesterday, I had met Congress president Sonia Gandhi and NSA MK Narayan. Their response was positive. But today I met Pranab Mukherjee and I am quite disappointed with his response," Ramadoss told reporters here.

He said that Mukherjee told him that at present it was not possible to stop the war in Sri Lanka.

"We are for immediate ceasefire by the Rajapaksa government without any pre-condition in Sri Lanka. Such ceasefire should be guaranteed by India and international communities," the PMK leader said.

Ramadoss submitted a five-page memorandum to Mukherjee on the issue of armed conflict in Sri Lanka and the humanitarian crises in the island nation.

CPI leader D Raja said it seems the Rajapaksa government did not believe in political solution but only in military solution to the Lankan crisis.
