PRANDEEP OVERCAME Abhay Sharma in the Under-16 category of the TV Parthsarthy Open Bhopal Championship at BHEL Senior Club on Tuesday.
In the first match of the under-16 category, Prandeep had to struggle against Abhay Sharma. After winning the first set 21-14, Prandeep faced tough challenge in the following set. Excellent service by Abhay Sharma posed problems for Prandeep on several occasions.
After some bad game in the first ten points, Prandeep changed his strategy. He started posing problems for the Abhay by dropping the shots at the net. His strategy worked and he won the match 21-14 and 23-21.
In the second match of the same category, Devam defeated Akash 21-8 and 21-13. The girls’ section witnessed one-sided matches.
In the first match, Abidha beat Nidhi 21-4 and 21-3. In the other matches, Pratishtha beat Sandhya 21-14 and 21-6, Babita defeated Alka 21-8 and 21-5 Kritika defeated Shreya 21-12 and 21-6. In the under-13 girls section Rublin defeated Palak 21-7 and 21-6.
