THE PRAYAG Sangeet Samiti, an institution dedicated to propagation of the Indian classical music, will have its own website. The website will be launched on Friday.
Aditya Narayan, treasurer of the Samiti, will launch the website. According to JN Chaturvedi, secretary of the Samiti, the main branch of Prayag Sangeet Samiti in Allahabad will now be connected to its 1600 branches in India and abroad through the website.
"It is a matter of pride for us that the institute has managed to gain reputation of being the pioneer in the field of teaching the students favouring the Indian classical music.
Now the website of the institute will further enhance the efficiency of the Samiti as all the related information will now be available in it," he said.
Numerous students are attached to the Prayag Sangeet Samiti and its branches."Those who patronise the Indian classical music as well as the students will have the facility to retrieve the information regarding various contact numbers, the strength of the institute, new courses being launched, details of teachers, music conferences and functions being held under the aegis of the institution and other information on the website," he added.
"The main purpose is to attach more people with the institution. We were also getting such complaints from the countries like the US and Russia where the students found it difficult to directly contact the main branch in Allahabad through phones. Thus, the website was the best solution and now they can always remain in touch with us and as well as their counterparts," says Chaturvedi.
For the purpose, the Prayag Sangeet Samiti has also opened a computer room on its campus which will be expanded gradually. The website has been designed by an Allahabad-based agency.
"It is yet another step towards the propagation of the Indian classical music globally," said Chaturvedi.
