The pre-paid service culture in Jaipur is gaining ground.

People will soon be able to buy pre-paid electricity units like they buy talk-time for their mobile phones.
Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (JVVNL) is planning to introduce pre-paid power cards "to make things easier for consumers, earn advance revenue and check power wastage", a company official informed.

Orders for the cards have been issued to four private firms.
"These firms will initially install free power devices in consumers' houses here to check the viability of pre-paid cards," he said.
Rates of the cards and other details of the project are being discussed. JVVNL wants to launch the facility in May.
