When the first model walked on the ramp carrying an over sized very dangerous looking silver sword, you knew that Pria wanted to make a statement. It was about over exaggerated, opulent glamour from the very start to the very end. Printed, soft mul mul cottons that looked like they were from Rajasthani villages were heavily, and by heavily we mean heavily, embellished.

There were gypsy skirts, harem pants, velvet jackets and puff sleeves all giving a slight feel of pirate style glamour. Net dresses had such large embellishments that there was no need to wear a slip underneath. Velvet too was another fabric favoured by Pria There was the odd feminine touch as most skirts had frou-frou style frills – of course these were on the larger side. This collection was called Nouvele Couture and was inspired by the poor-little-rich girl. Pria mixed vintage with flamboyance taken to another level. Here’s a girl who doesn’t shy away from making a personal statement.
