BATTLE LINES have been drawn between the Primary Teachers’ Association and Basic Shiksha Adhikari Sanjeev Singh with the teachers deciding to intensify their agitation in support of their demands from Wednesday. The agitation was initially launched on November 9 .

It is to be noted that the BSA had shifted 600 teachers to different schools and had not cleared promotion of around five-dozen teachers as principals of junior high schools.
District president of Primary Teachers’ Association Bhaktraj Ram Tripathi and secretary Shridhar Mishra said their patience had run out as the BSA had stopped their salary since last two months. They blamed the BSA for violating the guidelines issued by the department on transfer of lady teachers and said lady teachers had been transferred to remote areas which was against the spirit of the Basic teachers manual and guidelines.
Responding to a question, he said from Wednesday State president of the association Abhimanyu Prasad Tiwari, member of State working committee of the association Narendra Pratap Singh, Janardhan Tripathi and others would lead the dharna and demonstration.
Senior vice-president of the association Harendra Rais said primary teachers were willing to do or die and the agitation against the arbitrary attitude of the BSA had entered its final stage. Teachers’ community leader Harishanker Singh, Mahesh Shukla, Prabhakar Pandey, Ajay Singh and others also expressed their views on the occasion.
