Priyanka's father Ashok Chopra had filed a complaint in Oshiwara police station two days ago that Jaju was sending "vulgar" and "threatening" SMS to the actress.

Fearing arrest in the case, Jaju on Wednesday approached the court. He also sought interim protection till the application was decided on, but the court refused to grant interim protection from arrest and adjourned the matter till Thursday.

Jaju has said in his anticipatory bail application that he had entered into an agreement with her for years 2001 and 2002, and as per the agreement, Priyanka owed him Rs 69 lakhs.

He denied that he ever threatened her or sent vulgar SMSs.

He also claimed that he had earlier filed a suit for the recovery of his dues in metropolitan magistrate's court, but later withdrew it when Priyanka agreed to settle the matter amicably.
