Probe into Sonia aircraft ‘air miss’

The Indian Air Force admits that its Boeing 737 carrying Sonia Gandhi had an air miss because it was not a RVSM (Reduced Vertical Separation Minima) compliant aircraft.

The Indian Air Force on Monday admitted that its Boeing 737 carrying Congress president Sonia Gandhi had an air miss because it was not a RVSM (Reduced Vertical Separation Minima) compliant aircraft. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is probing the air miss.

The IAF is also trying to find out how VVIPs could be put in an aircraft which is not technologically upgraded.

HT reported on Monday that the plane flying Sonia Gandhi to Srinagar on September 10 came dangerously close to a Virgin Atlantic aircraft.
