An indication of the colder weather was provided by drop in temperature in North MP with the temperature in Khajuraho plunging to 6 degrees on Christmas night and Gwalior recording 6.5 degrees.

However, the weather in other parts, mainly Central MP including capital Bhopal, continued to be on the warmer side. The minimum temperature on night intervening Sunday and Monday was recorded at 12 degrees – two degrees above normal for the season.

Director of Regional Meteorological Centre, Dr D P Dubey, said that with the western disturbance moving over, the incursion of humidity over the State has decreased and the wind pattern is also becoming more northerly in direction. Thus, within 48 hours, the temperatures would start dropping across the State.
