PROPER DEVELOPMENT and management of human resource was needed to cope with challenges before industrial organisations in the era of globalisation. This was the view of eminent speakers at a daylong workshop on ‘Human Resources Management’ held at the School of Management Sciences, in Varanasi on Friday.

Director general of the institute Prof Mukund Lal emphasised the importance of human resource and its adequate development and management in the era of globalisation.
Addressing the participants, Prof Anand Prakash of Department of Psychology, University of Delhi, expressed the need of proper understanding of human resource management.
He said understanding people, hiring the most efficient staff and adopting to the changes were major current challenges for organisations.
Discussing the psychometric tests, he said the most common use of such tests was to take a decision about a person. “Some important tests are the intelligence test, aptitude test, achievement test and personality test,” he said.
Such tests were widely practiced by organisations for selection and development of human resource and retaining the right talent, he added.
