The procession led by city unit president Shivendra Mishra, culminated at Shubhash Chowk after passing through Hindu Hostel, Chandrashekhar Azad’s statue and Hanuman Temple.

Addressing the activists at Civil Lines, Mishra described those who opposed the National Song as traitors. Speaking on the occasion, Vivek Baba said the time had come to teach a lesson to anti-national forces.

Addressing an emergency meeting of the district unit of the BJP, president Narendra Deo Pandey came down heavily against Muslim leaders who refused to sing Vande Mataram. The meeting passed a resolution demanding the Union government to register case against those who had insulted the National Song.

Bajrang Dal members also held a meeting at Jhalwa and flayed Abdula Bukhari for his statement on Vande Mataram. Satish Chandra wondered why State and Central governments were maintaining silence over the issue.
