For the third consecutive day on Wednesday, Jammu and Kashmir continued to rock under protests. But protests in both places were by and large peaceful barring few incidents of violence.

Authorities relaxed curfew restrictions in Srinagar between 8am and 11am, which was later extended to 5pm. Hundreds of residents took to protest demonstrations at several places in the city, shouting pro-freedom slogans.

Police and protestors clashed at several places in interior Srinagar where stone pelting was retaliated by teargas and overhead firing. At least 10 civilians and four policemen were injured.
Reports from northern Baramulla district said a violent mob attacked the house of senior Congress leader and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil at Nowpora in Rafiabad. Vakil was not at home at that time.
