This startling fact surfaced when a source in the police department said on Sunday afternoon Raju Kahar, Gore Yadav, Santan Yadav, Raju Chauhan and Ram Karan had raided the house of Ram Pal in Rajepur village.

The same day, the police cordoned off the village on a tip-off and there was an exchange of fire between the police and the miscreants for 15 minutes but the rifle of Sarvesh, a constable in the police department, who was battling with the criminals, got jammed.

The miscreants took advantage of it and managed to escape as Sarvesh, who was in the key position, was not in a condition to fire.

However, they left behind a bag in which police recovered five super power gelatin rods made in Maharastra, two hand-grenades, three bombs weighing half a kg, a .12 bore countrymade pistols and several live cartridges.
