Rajat Sethi is a leader in the new-age “sunshine” sector of low-carbon techs and ideas that are being constantly evolved to help corporates do business with a touch of green.

“We bridge the gap between energy, environment and finance. It’s a vital link,” said Sethi, (23), co-founder of his company Exergy, a unique service provider.

Exergy is a single-window solution to any low-carbon needs that your company might have.

Rajat and his team can audit your company and design you a template that will explain how to reduce your carbon footprint without losing efficiency.

His company can also devise financial models that makes financing of low-carbon, energy-efficient initiatives seem like a smooth, everyday affair. And in between all that, he also generates electricity from sunlight.

“We are into generating solar power as part of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission. Basically, we can handle it all,” says this B. Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

Rajat and his team have devised the whole finance model like a workable business solution.

“We founded in the end of 2008, and so far we have worked with private and public enterprises alike,” he said.

The current project that is closest to his heart is the mobilisation of engineering students in Uttar Pradesh to change all the incandescent bulbs in the state to energy-saving compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs).

“We are training thousands of the electrical engineers to go to their respective villages and initiate the change. We have partnered with the UP state government to carry out this project,” he said.
