THE NAWABGANJ SHO’s bid to impress the SSP failed today when the latter inspected the police station. Though the ground floor of the police station was decorated like a marriage hall but with the SSP’s visit to the first floor all efforts of the SHO came undone.
During his one and half-hour inspection, SSP PC Meena found poor attendance of policemen during the night shift and discovered that most constables were issued night pass. The night pass allows constables the liberty to stay with their families although it is normally issued on a serious ground. The SSP asked subordinates to cancel all night passes and ordered the policemen to report for duty immediately.
The SSP also found that the police station had no proper record about the staff mess and the PS even failed to produce record of police personnel taking meal from the mess. The SSP also inspected the first floor of the police station where he found confidential and important files lying un-attended to. Meena immediately suspended SSI RK Kaushal.
Somehow, the cops survived 1 hour 30 minutes grueling inspection. Before leaving the Police station, the SSP admonished the SHO to remove the scrap that was scattered on the police station premises in the form of broken bicycles, motorcycles and scooters.
