‘‘ONLY HINDU ‘sanskriti’ can flourish in India,’’ asserted Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international president Ashok Singhal. He was speaking at a felicitation function of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ‘pracharak’ Gulabchand Khandelwal aka ‘Dada Bhai’ held on his 84th birthday at Sanghi Muktakash, Gandhi Hall today.
Singhal said just as leaves and fruits of the same variety blossom on a tree, only culture ethnic to the country would survive, as it was the root of our identity. The country was facing several problems but none as acute as those faced by three global powers namely Jehadi Islam, the church and China. The first was getting nourishment from Pakistan and Gulf countries and was spawning unrest in Kashmir and other Muslim-dominated places.
Likewise, Church, which was getting nourishment from Europe and USA, was engaged in converting tribals and fomenting unrest in the North East. And, last but not the east Maoists also known as Naxals were getting nourishment from communist China and had spread their terror network in 170 districts of 14 Indian states and were also raising their ugly head in Nepal.
‘‘Vested interests working in the garb of ‘secularism’ pose a grave threat to the safety of the country and these treacherous forces wished to divide India,’’ he said. These so-called secular forces specialised in partition and if they continued to have a say, it would lead to further division of the country. The time had come when Indians had to rally around patriotism and nationalism and pledge not to let the country get divided again.

Not only the British, but secular forces of the time propagating a mixed culture who had support of several prominent persons including Gandhi opposed the ideals of ‘Hindu Rashtra’ as dreamt by the RSS. These secular forces imposed ban on a nationalistic organisation like RSS three times under the regimes of Nehru, Indira Gandhi and P V Narasimha Rao.
