Speaking to mediapersons in Bhopal on Sunday night, he said though the BJP had secured two-thirds majority in December 2003 elections, but now discontentment had grown among public due to the state government's working style, anti-public policies and difference in its words and deeds.

Accusing the government of not providing adequate compensation to the affected farmers of recent hailstorm and unseasonal rainfall, he said the government is not utilising Rs 300 crore received from the natural disaster fund for the purpose.

The Congress leader said in case the government imposed a 'one time tax' to provide relief to affected farmers, he would rise above party politics and welcome the decision.

He said a central team was assessing the loss as per the directions of the Centre. The party will strive to get maximum relief package from the Centre on the basis of the report.

Expressing concern over growing fear of dacoits in the state, Scindia said the government lacked will power and determination to uproot the menace.

On rolling out of two 'yatras' by the BJP in the country, he said he would have supported the 'yatras' if it had been on the issues related to employment, power or water.
