Both Gorhe and Narvekar who is personal assistant to the Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray were booked under sections 153 and 120 of IPC by police who cited tapped telephone conversation between the two, allegedly hatching a conspiracy to damage city buses and causing disruption of normal life during the bandh.

A judicial magistrate before whom they were produced granted them bail on a surety of Rs 15,000.

The bandh was organised by Shiv Sena -BJP- and supported by MNS in protest against Pune civic body's decision to remove the statue of Dadoji Kondadev, historically regarded as mentor of Shivaji, from "Lal Mahal" here in the wake of the controversy caused by the book authored by American writer James Laine, containing alleged defamatory references to Shivaji's parentage.
