The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) announced on Thursday that the meet will be held at the Balewadi Sports Complex, which was the venue for the 2008 Youth CWG.

During the five-day event, the cream is expected to participate because it will act as a qualifying meet for the August 10-18 World Championships in Moscow. Initially, the venue was Chennai, but after Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa said she would not allow Sri Lankan players due to that country’s ‘anti-Tamil policy’, the event had to be moved out.
