The police were accompanied by dozens of Vanar Sena activists. The activists had intimated the police that two youths were travelling with two girls of a different community in the train. The activists were alleging that the girls were lured and forced to accompany the youths. Chaos prevailed at the Northern Eastern Railway (NER) station, as dozens of Vanar Sena activists gathered on the platform and waited for the Pushpak Express.

When GRP officials came to know of the huge gathering, they alerted the Charbagh GRP police station. GRP personnel rushed to the platform, where the activists were about to create a ruckus. Police later talked to the activists who said that two youths had boarded the Pushpak Express for Lucknow, along with two girls. They said that the girls belonged to a different community and were forced to accompany the youths. The activists said that they had come to rescue the girls.

However, GRP officials assured the activists that the girls would be rescued. As the train arrived at the station, the cops conducted an extensive search of a particular bogie, but found the seats vacant. The activists later left the station peacefully.
