Claiming that open borders with Nepal were responsible for the influx of ISI agents into Uttar Pradesh, BJP on Friday asked the Centre and state governments to "demolish" the network and take the UN Security Council into confidence for keeping the Pakistani agency under international watch.

"A direct action is needed to demolish the network of the ISI in the state or else social harmony and amity could be disturbed," BJP President Rajnath Singh told reporters in Lucknow on Friday.

"The Uttar Pradesh police chief had said recently that ISI has established its network in the western and eastern regions of the state," Singh, whose Bharat Suraksha Yatra arrived in the state capital late on Thursday night, claimed.

Singh said that India's borders with Nepal were open and hence it was easy for any one to get into the country from the other side.

The Centre should take the UNSC members into confidence in putting the ISI under the international watch, the BJP President demanded.

"The recent terror attacks on centres of faith had disturbed the society and there must not be any delay in taking a direct action," he said.
