Speaker Sukhdev Rajbhar had to adjourn the question hour twice after assurances by him to take up the matter later on were failed to pacify the opposition led by SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav pressing for taking up the issue by putting the scheduled procedures on hold.

As the House reassembled, Yadav, Suresh Khanna of BJP, Pramod Tewari of Congress and Kokab Hamid of Rashtriya Lok Dal charged the government for the murder of a senior official which they said had sent shock waves in the country and had brought a bad name to the state.

They claimed that the incident would also affect the industrial climate of the state as the murder was committed in Auraiya, where an important GAIL plant is located.
