A magnitude-4.0 earthquake rattled the city of Mansehra in northwestern Pakistan on Monday, but there were no reports of injuries or damage, an official said.

The quake at 11:42 am was centered in the mountainous Hazara region where Mansehra is located, about 100 kms north of the capital Islamabad, said Mohammed Akram, an official at the state-run Seismological Center in Peshawar.

On October 8, 2005, a magnitude-7.6 quake struck Pakistan's northwest causing widespread devastation and leaving more than 80,000 people dead and about 3 million homeless.
