Queries on cut-off list flood DU office

These days DU's office is flooded with queries about the first cutoff list. If you have the same query then check the dates here.

“Ma’am, when the first cut off list comes out, will my name and roll number appear in the merit list?” asked a student who had called up the office of Deputy Dean, Students’ Welfare, South Campus.

“No, only the cut-off would be announced. If your marks are equal or more than that, you will get admission,” answered Deputy Dean Jogesh Chaddha, somewhat stupefied. This is just one of the odd queries that are flooding DU’s Students’ Welfare offices in both North and South campus.

“The phone keeps ringing incessantly and all kind of questions are hurled at us. Till June 15, when pre-admission forms were being submitted, we had put two people to attend to the calls, but now we are managing it ourselves,” said Suman Verma, Deputy Dean.

Most students want to know if they should wait for the second cut-off list for the college of their choice or get admission in the college where cut-off is low.

A student called up to find out if he can get admission even though he has not submitted the pre-admission form. A parent wanted to know if his son can know about the cut-off list a day before as he would be out of town when the cut-off list is announced.
