According to sources, the State government had decided to take the Bill to the State Cabinet again after making certain changes in the original draft.

The Cabinet had deferred a decision on the Bill at its last meeting when some ministers pointed out that the Bill in its present form would have an adverse impact on setting up new engineering and medical colleges.

The Cabinet is likely to consider another proposal regarding increasing trade tax levied on the food served in star hotels. This will result in hike in the prices indicated in the menu at five star, three star and other star hotels.
