THE ANTI-QUOTA brigade has resolved to stop the government from introducing the OBC Reservation Bill in the Monsoon Session of Parliament. At the end of the three-day National Co-ordination Committee meeting in Bangalore, the students, who came from all over the country, also decided to fight jointly under the banner of Youth For Equality (Y4E) and not succumb to government pressure.
A member of the Y4E, an All India Institute of Medical Sciences medico, while talking to Hindustan Times said, “This time we will see how the government suppresses the voice of the people. Now, there would be no communication gap among students.”
Another AIIMS medico said, “Henceforth, lakhs of students would begin a nationwide satyagrah at a single call.”
There were many students who complained that intelligence agencies were tapping their phones.
The meeting also worked out a strategy to ward off such intelligence interference.
All State representatives have been asked to mobilise students so that at a single call a nationwide campaign could be organised. “We would not let the government pass the Reservation Bill. If they try to suppress our voices then we won’t mind shedding our blood,” said Mohit (name changed) a member of the Y4E from Ahmedabad.

{{/usCountry}}Meanwhile, here at IIT-K members of FIR have decided a sit on protest during the lunch hour. The FIR members have called off their relay hunger strike and would now work on the directives of the Y4E.
