Even though Goldie Behl's Drona has been in the making for years, a source close to family informs that Amitabh Bachchan wants the fantasy flick in which Abhishek is playing a super hero, to be his next release. The film also features Priyanka Chopra as his bodyguard.
Behl who made his directorial debut with Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai eight years ago, has been struggling to complete his second film for the last couple of years. The film, we're told, has finally been wrapped up and is speeding through post production.
In comparison Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar Raaj was a breeze, shot in one start-to-finish schedule in Ramoji Rao Studio. But though the Bachchans are mighty pleased with the sequel, the film doesn't look like it's going to keep its date with the audience this June.
Hitting a hurdle
"Ramu needs combination dates from Amitji, Abhishek and Aishwarya so he can re-shoot portions of the film. But given how busy all three actors are, that doesn't look like an easy task," informs our source.
With the summer release of Sarkar Raaj now likely to be pushed back, it looks like Drona will be Abhishek's next release. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres in the second week of June.
