Both the drivers' and constructors' titles have been wrapped up by Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull Racing but as far as Indian motorsports fans are concerned, the Indian Grand Prix is the most anticipated event on the F1 calendar.
After all the stories of potential delays and possible stoppages due to farmer agitations, customs duty payment, corporation tax payment as well as construction issues, the venue has been given the go ahead by the FIA and the track has been tried out by Neel Jani in Red Bull's show car.
Now all that remains to be seen is how the event itself will be run and if Narain Karthikeyan's participation will merit enough support from the Indian corporate sphere to help him get a race seat for 2012, and more importantly, if support will be handed out to young drivers in junior racing series looking to move to the top most tier of international motorsports.
There is also the small matter of seeing which of F1's star drivers will master the challenging layout that Karthikeyan believes to be "extremely technical" and will reward drivers that keep things neat and tidy behind the wheel instead of throwing the car into the corner and jamming their foot on the accelerator.
