The centre has been asked to detail the action it has taken to ensure safety of Indian students facing racial attacks in Australia and Canada.

The Supreme Court on Monday asked the Centre to file an affidavit by June 26 regarding the issue.

The Court acted on a public interest petition filed by a Delhi-based advocate.
The court said it was issuing notice because the attacks had not stopped despite the fact that the government “might have taken up the matter at the highest level.”
